Tom Binns – Silver-plated Swarovski Crystal Safety Pin Necklace

I’m a HUGE fan of Tom Binns. See my previous post. I’d wear this gorgeous safety pin crystal necklace with basic tees, tank tops, plain shirts, simple dresses, etc. That would deliver a direct punk chic update.

Dannijo – Anette Swarovski Crystal Earrings

Love the black-blue combination. I’d also wear this one with simple basics, the same way I’d do with the Tom Binns necklace.

Simple and incredibly chic. An absolute classic. Would be great for work.

Kobi van den Akker - Black Flower Bib Necklace

I discovered Kobi van den Akker only a few days ago! All her jewellery is hand-made. In the case of the above necklace, that means that each black flower is unique! And it’s encrusted with Swarovski crystals. J’adore!

Hermès - Calèche Bracelet

Made of silver & palladium. A timeless piece in my opinion.

Hermès - Clic H Bracelet

Also made of silver & palladium. I’m not at all into the usage of logos on the garments. But I guess I have an exception for Hermès. A couple of months ago I purchased the reversible Clic H belt in black/gold:

The buckle is made of palladium. I love that it’s reversible, you can then enjoy both colours;)

Smythson – Stamped Leather Jewellery Roll

… And the last but not the least, the beautiful Smythson jewellery roll to keep all your beloved treasures safe and sound during your travels;)

The new talent: Prabal Gurung. Born in Singapore, raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, began to his design career in Delhi, now resides in NYC. Launched his first collection during New York Fashion Week in in February 2009. Finalist for the 2010 CFDA Vogue Fashion Awards. Watch him out! His designs get better and better in my opinion.

Since in the recent future I’ll be starting to a new job where there’ll be a more corporate-type dress code, I’ve been doing some thinking about my clothing as well as bags.

A good bag to carry at work is quite important I think. It has to be elegant, classy, stylish and big enough to fit in all the stuff that you need. Here is my selection:

Mulberry – Black Bayswater

I actually have this one already! It’s such a great bag! Looks cool, is big enough. Perfect for work! Doesn’t have to be limited with work though. I wear it a lot, just about all the time;)

Mulberry – Oversized Alexa

Carries about all the qualities of  Bayswater, plus can be worn diagonally thanks to its long satchel.

Givenchy – Nightingale Medium

Beautiful!

Proenza Schouler – Medium PS1 Satchel

Has a similar spirit to Mulberry – Alexa. Love!

Balenciaga – Giant City Rose Gold

I actually already have Balenciaga - First in purple/indigo blue. A black one with big, gold studs would be great for work though;)

Justified from my previous post, I’m a big Wang fun. This bag is just very versatile; great for work as well as for everyday wear.

Here is my Top 5 for perfumes.

1. Creed Aqua Fiorentina

It’d be correct to say that I’m obsessed with Creed’s perfumes. This is the one that I’m currently using.  Inspired by the Italian city of Florence, made of greengage, plum, blooms from the farms, gardens and orchards. Perfect for summer! Plus, the bottle comes with a gorgeous detail: Renaissance style embossed roses tumbling down its shoulders (not visible on the picture).

2. Creed Love in Black

I used this the whole winter last year. Absolutely delicious. Violets, iris, blackcurrant an rose. Seduction rather than innocence.

3. Creed Love in White

The most successful fragrance of House of Creed to date. Composed of a bouquet of white flowers: narcissus, magnolia, white hyacinth. Emphasis on innocence and optimism, the mirror image of Love in Black. Kind of like Dusk and Dawn of Erwin Olaf.

3. Kilian Back to Black

I guess I’m attracted to perfumes which have “black” in their names. Or, perhaps it’s just a coincidence;) Back to Black by Kilian has a tobacco aroma with sweet undertones of honey. I love it!

5. Prada Infusion d’ Iris

Also perfect for summer. Comforting and fresh. I like that the bottle is so minimalistic, yet it does the trick;)

I’m not going on vacation this summer since I’m VERY busy working to finish some stuff. But, who knows, if everything works out I’ll go to somewhere in southern hemisphere this winter. In any case, it makes me happy to look at the beachwear! See for instance my recent entry on Laura Urbinati.

When it comes to underwear, I’ve been wearing La Perla religiously (particularly the Black Label collection). But, the beachwear doesn’t seem bad either!

When Turkish-born, London-based designer Hakaan Yildirim made his debut in London Fashion Week with his Fall 2010 collection, it had made quite a stir. Lara Stone, Natalia Vodianova, Anja Rubik, Mariacarla Boscono, Natasha Poly walking the catwalk; Kate Moss watching it from the front row…

Recently, he won the prestigious ANDAM award of €220,000 beating a group of strong competitors including Mark Fast. Using this award, he’ll open his boutique in Paris.

Below are a few examples from his Fall 2010 collection. It’s absolutely glamourous! Architectural structures, ostrich feathers, leather and navy wool… It certainly stands out, there is something about it. I love it!

Last Saturday, I went to Foam Photography Museum to see the photography exhibition by the Dutch photographer Ines van Lamsweerde and her husband Vinoodh Matadin named “Pretty Much Everything“.  This photography duo has been active for 25 years and gotten involved with tons of fashion ad campaigns and editorials.

Laura Urbinati is a great choice when it comes to swimwear. I like her simple but unique designs. They definitely carry her signature.
